If you’re a player and want to get involved, you can do so at no cost with the D&D Basic Rules in PDF or in a mobile friendly online version. These rules are available freely through the Wizards of the Coast, Dungeons & Dragons website.

Go to the D&D Adventures League Resources Page where we’ve released the D&D Adventurers League Player’s Guide (as well as the following documents), which provides additional information and instructions on how to create “legal” characters for the D&D Adventurers League. Create your character using the Quickstart Guide and determine your faction. Once you fill out your D&D Adventurers League character sheet and play through the adventures, you will need to track your rewards (experience, treasure, magic items, & renown) on the D&D Adventurers League Logsheet.

From there you can play games in the privacy of your own home, online, or out in public. Public events allow you to meet other gamers at at stores, conventions, and game clubs. At the end of each session be sure fill out your D&D Adventurers League Logsheets for your character with the rewards earned for the session, the DM’s name, and DCI number. Your DM should tell you what Experience (XP), Renown, Gold, and other rewards.

If you’re playing in public you’ll need a DCI number, you can get them free at dci.wizards.com
